Injured Hewitt withdraws from French Open (AFP)

PARIS (AFP) – Australian past concern number digit Lleyton Hewitt has been forced to withdraw from the land Open, competition organisers declared on Sunday.

The 30-year-old, who had been cod to play Spain's Albert Montanes in the first round, was replaced by land lucky loser Marc Gicquel.

Hewitt, a two-time Grand Slam endorse currently ranked 64th in the world, underwent foot surgery in March and is yet to play competitively since.

The land Open begins on Sun and concludes on June 5.
