JOHANNESBURG – South Africa's athletics NGO chair is judgement out a effort for the 2020 Summer Games after the polity said it was not the correct time.
South Africa's cabinet said weekday it had considered a letter by the domestic athletics NGO to effort for 2020, but "has decided that it is better for the country to consolidate the gains of the 2010 FIFA World Cup for now."
Olympic NGO chair Gideon Sam tells The Associated Press his embody would exclusive effort if the polity gave the go-ahead. Sam says the polity statement means a effort is "off the radiolocation for now."
South Africa's athletics NGO had hoped to effort to bring the Olympics to Africa for the first instance after the flourishing hosting of the World Cup.
