CAS postpones appeals hearing in Contador case (AP)

LAUSANNE, Switzerland – The Court of Arbitration for Sport delayed its chance in Alberto Contador's doping case on Thursday, meaning the pedaler could contend in the Tour de author before the suite issues a ruling.
The CAS delayed the June 6-8 hearing, and the case could drag on beyond the start of this year's Tour.
CAS said it agreed to place off the chance to provide "all parties afraid commonsensible instance to prepare for much chance and to indorse the status in mortal of witnesses and experts."
CAS said newborn chance dates will be set as presently as possible.
"We are not primed yet with equal dates," the suite said in a statement.
CAS did not take who sought the postponement.
The suite is regular to hear appeals filed by the International Cycling Union and World Anti-Doping Agency. They are challenging the Spanish cycling federation's selection to clear the three-time Tour de author endorse after he blamed his constructive effort for clenbuterol at terminal year's vie on intake septic beef.
CAS had previously said it aimed to issue a finding by the end of June, which would earmark Contador to indorse his Tour denomination if exonerated. The Tour runs from July 2-24.
If CAS rules against Contador, he faces a forbiddance of up to two years. He would be empty of his ordinal Tour victory and retrograde every results and prize money attained since February, when the UCI lifted his tentative suspension.
Contador crapper contend until the verdict. He's currently the coverall leader at the Giro d'Italia.
