Army football great Joe Steffy dies at 85. (AP)

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Joe Steffy, who played with Doc Blanchard and Glenn Davis on whatever of Army's large teams and won the Outland Trophy as the nation's crowning lineman in 1947, has died. He was 85.
Army declared that Steffy died at St. Luke's-Cornwall Hospital's town campus on Saturday. He had dealt heart problems in recent years.
Steffy was a two-time All-American and played on Army's 1945 and 1946 undefeated teams under railcar Earl "Red" Blaik and with Heisman winning running backs, Blanchard and Davis. Steffy was inducted into the College Football uranologist of Fame in 1987.
Steffy served in the Korean War and received a Bronze Star and Purple Heart after being wounded in action.
His No. 61 is one of exclusive four academy numbers to be retired.
