Metrodome roof replacement to begin Friday (AP)
MINNEAPOLIS – For the prototypal instance in its 29-year history, the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in Minneapolis module intend a newborn roof.

New artifact panels module be delivered to the downtown Minneapolis stadium, and Birdair Inc., module begin by exchange three diamond-shaped panels that damaged during a Dec snowstorm.
Work is due to move finished July. The send is scheduled to be completed Aug. 1, in instance for the Minnesota Vikings' preseason.
The Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission opted to change the whole roof after engineers said they worried only repairing torn panels wouldn't be sufficiency to preclude added failure.
The authorisation hired Birdair to change the roof. The Amherst, N.Y.-based contractor fashioned and installed the roof, which has awninged the Metrodome since its opening in 1982.
