Giants pitcher Zito involved in car crash in L.A. (AP)

LOS ANGELES – San Francisco Giants ballplayer Barry Zito was condemned to a infirmary after his automobile was hit broadside at a West Hollywood intersection.

The break occurred presently before 8 p.m. weekday at Sunset Boulevard and Sunset Plaza Drive, Los Angeles County Sheriff's spokesman Sgt. carpenter Morien told The Associated Press.

The ballplayer was condemned to a Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for observation, but Morien said he doesn't hit any info on his condition.

"It was just to be patterned out if he had injuries or not, and I conceive he was released from the hospital," the sergeant said.

Cedars-Sinai declined to feature if Zito was aerated there. City News Service said the another driver wasn't hurt.

Morien said Zito was not at fault, but the officer did not provide another info of the crash. He said Zito's automobile had field damage.

The break is ease being investigated, and Morien said he didn't undergo if the another driver would be cited.

The Giants unstoppered the season weekday against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Zito, a former Cy Young succeeder and the team's No. 4 starter, had been due to pitch over the weekend.
