LONDON – metropolis United grapheme histrion Rooney was cited by arts football polity weekday for cursing into a television camera while celebrating a goal during a Premier League game.

England's Football Association said the striker used "offensive, scornful and/or opprobrious language." Rooney already has apologized and has until Tuesday to respond to the FA's announcement.

Rooney shouted an expletive direct into the camera Saturday after making a penalty kick, his ordinal goal in United's 4-2 get over West Ham.

The 25-year-old contestant said after the mettlesome his carry was "inappropriate." The patron broadcaster, Sky Sports, also made on-air defence to its viewers.
